Summer in Spain

{source unknown}

It took a while but tiger mama finally let go. This tigress is leaving her home in the cold climate of Canada this summer and will be traveling to sunny Spain! For some seasoned travelers this is probably a walk in the park, but (aside from some school trips abroad,) I've never traveled without my family. Because of that, I am extremely grateful to my Spanish friends for welcoming me into their homes with open arms; I cannot be more blessed. So much talk about southern hospitality in America, this must be Spanish hospitality

Spain at the moment still feels like a dream. Only a week ago, I was sitting in front of my laptop and plugging in travel dates into Priceline.com. Up until then, I was still comparing flight prices and would only get increasingly nervous each time I signed on, knowing that once I made the purchase there would be no turning back...

When I finally decided that I was ready to make the jump...I couldn't do it.

Baking on a Lazy Afternoon

After the heaviest course load and most stressful term of my school life, I came out of exams feeling like a winner. And with so much more free time on my hands, I decided to explore my (underrated) culinary side.

A year of New Things, a year of Good Things

First day out of school and this is what I did...

Today marks the end of the school term.
  • The end of 6 am mornings.
  • The end of 1.5 hours bus rides to school (with 3 connections)
  • The end of stuffing my face...okay that probably won't stop.
Today also marks the start of many good things to come.
  • The start of moving homes (and packing)
  • The start of packing for a California vacation
  • The start of packing for 6 months work/play in Florida
  • The start of free time for:
    • rock climbing
    • friends
    • exploring
    • exploring rock climbing areas with friends
Because I didn't actually have time to create a new years resolution in January, I have decided that with my free time this summer, I will tackle my summer to-do list.
  1. Become a stronger climber outdoors
  2. Start trail running
  3. ......
Actually that's all I've got right now...

3..2..1..PACK TIME.

Sun-kissed

Yesterday was a great day. Woke up , met up with my friend, had lunch with her, and spent the day soaking up the sun at the beach. We went back to my place afterwards, hit the pool, and then headed for all-you-can-eat sushi.
